New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel was recently photographed in a compromising situation with then athletic reporter Dianna Russini.
The image is made a crystal clear that the relationship between the tune was far more than that a professional nature and was additionally complicated by the fact that Vrabel and Rossini are married-but not to each other.
After the story initially broke, Rossini resigned from The Athletic, posting her letter of resignation to her X account.
An interesting aspect of this incident is the amount of media coverage , or lacktherof, by and large it has not received. The media indifference become painfully obvious when compared to how the Ime Udoka situation was covered. The media put on a full court press, talking about the issues for weeks on end.
Media personalities such as Stephen A. Smith, who vigourously and unapologetically called for Udoka’s job have largely mute on Vrabel.
Fellow media gas bags such Milaika Andrews bared her fangs at anyone , even calling into Smith’s show to have a go at him, who had the temerity to say the women that Udoka has his affair with a willing participant and not a victim.
This is the same “journalist” who tried to torpedo the career of Charlotte Hornets guard Brandon Miller before it even started, but had nothing to say about Chad Wheeler.
Andrews wagged her finger at Kyrie Irving for his decision not to subject himself to the COVID-19 vaccination but had no such energy for Aaron Rodgers when news emerged that he was dishonest about getting the vaccine.
However she can’t be bothered to weigh in on this issue.
Even Jemele Hill , whom we have been critical love in the past , chimmed in to call out the NFL for seemingly looking the other way in terms of admitting out any repercussions towards Vrabel.
The Vrabel-Russini affair has once again exposed the mainstream sports media’s continued dereliction of its duty in terms of providing an objective accounting of the facts. It also in the latest example of how they selectively decide who and what stories they funnel to the masses.
